Datamatic Captures 2007
"Celebration of Enterprise" Award
|
PLANO, Texas – October
11, 2007 – Datamatic Ltd. was named "Enterprise
of the Year" during the Celebration of Enterprise
2007 awards banquet on September 26, 2007, in Plano, Texas.
Datamatic captured the award for the category of companies
earning between $10 and $50 million in revenues. Datamatic
has been a leading utility technology partner since 1980
and supports nearly 500 customers worldwide. "We’re
pleased that our team’s reputation for experience,
innovation and reliability was recognized with this
award," said Datamatic CEO Ken Kercher. "We’re
dedicated to providing leading-edge products for our
global customers that leverage the best, and most advanced
technology. Although we do business worldwide, it’s
important to be recognized for our accomplishments in
the community where Datamatic began."
The Celebration of Enterprise Award
program began in 1997 as a way to recognize and encourage
local businesses to recognize needs, take risks to satisfy
those needs and ultimately succeed. Today, the program
recognizes the most notable up-and-coming privately
held companies in Collin County, those that truly “embrace
the entrepreneurial spirit.”
To be considered for the award,
a private company must have its headquarters in Collin
County, be financially successful and have met a need
in the marketplace even though it required taking a
risk. Finalists undergo an extensive review with the
winners in four classes announced at a luncheon at the
Plano Centre.
Datamatic was recognized for developing technology that
leverages current automated meter reading data capture
systems to significantly enhance the information’s
value. In addition, the company was noted for pioneering
the use of high-speed, spread spectrum communications
systems to collect data from and control water, gas
and electric meters.
The company’s innovative ideas
virtually created an industry when it installed the
first electronic meter reading system in 1980. Datamatic
has steadily grown its sales and revenue over the past
few years and is poised for dramatic expansion with
a new world-class AMR system that was recently introduced
called MOSAIC™. It is the first universally-compatible
AMR system capable of reading water, gas and electric
meters via handheld, mobile and full mesh network collection
platforms from the same endpoint.
Datamatic earned numerous
“Dallas 100” Awards from Southern Methodist
University, as well as a “Momentum Award”
from the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce. The company’s
strong, steady growth was also recognized as Datamatic
earned finalist status for a “Stevie” at
The American Business Awards for four consecutive years.
Datamatic has also been celebrated in the Deloitte Fast
50 and the Comerica Collin 60 awards for many years
due to its stellar growth.
