Field Installation Project Manager

Summary: This position plans, directs, and coordinates the hardware installation of Automatic Meter Reading projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

In the role of Product Manager, on a candidate product, the responsibilities include:

• Consults with Project Team Manager and reviews project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project and staffing requirements.
• Develops project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.
• Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
• Directs and coordinates activities, as well as provided field support to project personnel/subcontractor to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
• Evaluates project issues as they arise and provides timely solutions to mitigate the impact on the project and ensure success.
• Prepares project status reports and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.
• Coordinates and responds to requests for changes from original specifications.

Technical Skills

• Applications – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Power Point, Adobe Writer, Internet Explorer.
• Databases – MS Access, SQL, Oracle.

Education and/or Experience 
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three-five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have current driver's licenses and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle background check. Must have valid credit/debit card to be able to finance travel expenses (with the exception of airfare and car rentals) on a weekly basis. All expenses are reimbursed weekly.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hands to install or troubleshoot FIREFLYs as well as use handheld and laptop computers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Territory Sales Manager

Summary: Sell Electronic and Automated Meter Reading Systems to Investor-Owned, Municipal and Cooperative utilities by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops detailed strategic review and quota attainment plan for territory.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Travels approximately 75% through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with prospects and customers by phone.
  • Analyzes customer's needs and recommends the system that best meets customer's requirements.
  • Emphasizes salable features such as flexibility, cost, capacity, and economy of operation.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Consults with staff engineers on highly technical problems.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Attends trade shows.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.  Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of proven success selling a big-ticket technical solution with a sales cycle average of 6+ monthsExperience with water utility metering and meter-reading systems is a must.

Technical Writer

Summary: Versatile, quality-conscious technical writer needed for position in well-established technology company.

Projects include development and maintenance of Technical Specifications, Functional Specifications, technical proposal responses, etc.

Must be a self-starter with good analytical skills, the capacity for detailed technical understanding, and the ability to interface with Engineering, Customer Support and Sales.
