Database Administrator (send resume)

Summary
This position is a hands-on, highly technical role responsible for supporting production and development database environments. Administers and monitors the organization's data resources, including multiple relational databases and servers. This position performs physical database design, optimization, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance, database and server availability, data integrity and security, recovers corrupted data.

As database administrator, your responsibilities will be to oversee and support important database systems that span across multiple systems throughout the organization. You will be responsible for identifying weaknesses in the current infrastructure and developing and upholding standards and guidelines to protect the integrity of key business data.

Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform database administration & maintenance tasks on Microsoft SQL Server databases in clustered, replication, and stand-alone configurations.
• Perform database, physical files and file group creation.
• Define and enforce security measures to prevent unauthorized access to databases.
• Perform database backups and restores.
• Perform database tuning and performance optimization during scheduled maintenance windows.
• Develop and optimize Stored Procedures.
• Develop and execute Maintenance Plans.
• Responsible for database server architecture and design as well as server environment recommendations for overall infrastructure solution including disk storage capacity planning.
• Install, upgrade, configure production and development applications and database software on Microsoft Windows Server platforms & support Microsoft SQL-Server, IIS, and .NET Framework.
• Implement and maintain schedule for maintenance jobs in order to maintain the health, performance, and integrity of the database systems
• Responsible for availability and reliability of business data stored in production application databases, ensuring integrity of data
• Maintain database and data recoverability, ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
• Responsible for database alerts, maintenance plans and scripts
• Monitor database activity and resolve performance issues.
• Manage database security and control access permissions and privileges.
• Apply best practices to security standards.
• Communicating regularly with technical, application development, business, and operational staff, to ensure the security and confidentiality of data
• Database support for internal and commercial applications.
• Resolve production database problems with team members and whenever possible, implement improvements that will prevent reoccurrence of problems
• Provide support & training to IT and development teams.
• Participate in the correction of production data issues.
• Respond to issues requests.
• Assist with planning, design, installation and configuration of database software
• Work with software developers to design and document data structures, and assist with the use of databases.
• Maintains database documentation.
• Recommends solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and required data security and data backup/recovery specification.
• Functions independently with minimal oversight and direction
• May instruct and guide lower level technical professionals
• Typically designs and develops approaches that are implemented by others
• Ability encompasses in-depth knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field, from a four-year college or university.
• Proficient skills and experience with Microsoft SQL Server database engines, T-SQL, Windows Server, shell scripting and utilities
• 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008 experience.
• 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server Tuning expertise.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or Oracle is a plus.
• Experience managing large and mission critical databases
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server in a clustered environment.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server in a replication environment.
• Experience supporting complex SQL queries and large databases.
• Experience supporting development and production database environments
• Experience working with software development team to provide database design overview and recommendations.
• Basic Windows system administration skills
• Experience with .NET Framework terminology and features
• Practical experience in monitoring and tuning proprietary databases, understanding RAID/SAN storage concepts; SQL Performance counters surrounding I/O and PerfMon;
• Practical experience in managing Microsoft SQL Server security and server installation rollouts and upgrades.
• Strong self-sufficiency and initiative
• Succinct verbal and written communication skills with various project team players.
• Experience providing after-hours production support.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills

Field Installation Project Manager - LA, Dallas, Atlanta (send resume)

Summary
This position plans, directs, and coordinates the hardware installation of Automatic Meter Reading projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Consults with Project Team Manager and reviews project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project and staffing requirements.
• Develops project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.
• Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
• Directs and coordinates activities, as well as provides field support to project personnel/subcontractor to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
• Evaluates project issues as they arise and provides timely solutions to mitigate the impact on the project and ensure success.
• Prepares project status reports and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.
• Coordinates and responds to requests for changes from original specifications.

Technical Skills

• Applications - MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Power Point, Adobe Writer, Internet Explorer.
• Databases - MS Access, SQL, Oracle

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three-five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current OSHA certification in Confined Space Entry and Ladder Safety a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have current driver's licenses and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle background check. Must have valid credit/debit card to be able to finance travel expenses (with the exception of airfare and car rentals) on a weekly basis. All expenses are reimbursed weekly.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hands to install or troubleshoot FIREFLYs as well as use handheld and laptop computers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must occasionally climb ladders to place equipment at height.

Regional Sales Manager (send resume)

Summary
Experience with Water Utility metering and meter-reading systems essential. We are currently seeking an experienced sales professional with a strong desire to play a key role in the promotion and sale of MOSAIC, the industry’s first universally-compatible AMR system capable of reading water, gas and electric meters via handheld, mobile and full mesh network collection platforms from the same endpoint.

This position is responsible for sales and promotion of Electronic and Automated Meter Reading Systems to Investor-Owned, Municipal and Cooperative utilities.

Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Develop and implement the strategies and plans necessary to achieve the targeted sales and profit results.
• Learn the complete feature set, value proposition and technical attributes of the Datamatic systems.
• Serve as knowledge specialist for sales partners and end user clients.
• Establish and maintain important relationships with key accounts.
• Travel approximately 80% through assigned territory to call on current and prospective customers in line with strategic account plans.
• Prepare price quotes and present financing options to current and prospective customers, along with participation on proposal response team as required.
• Participate in a variety of industry events, including trade shows.
• Enter sales activity, account information and travel data into SalesForce.com.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven success selling a big-ticket technical solution with a sales cycle average of 6 to 18 months.
• Must be able to pass standard Motor Vehicle and Criminal background checks, as well a drug screen.
